Situated on the banks of the River Tay, the Scottish town of Perth, although no longer classified as a city, is often referred to as 'The Fair City'.
This bustling market town is highly popular with tourists owing to its many historic buildings and beautiful bridges that span the river, as well as being where many of Scotland's ancient monarchs were crowned when the town was the country's capital.
The town offers architectural sights dating back nearly a thousand years, all of which are surrounded by the remains of Perth's ancient city walls. The centre of town plays host to a variety of shops and boutiques along its pedestrianised High Street, not to mention a host of traditional Scottish pubs and more modern bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
The surrounding countryside is stunning, with a range of scenic walking trails enjoyed by visiting ramblers.
